OUR GIRLS
I have found a new appreciation for our girls over the past few weeks. I find myself just watching them-all day--just starring!!!! I love to watch a smile form, to see a gleam of excitement form in their eyes, to hear them giggle at each other, oh I could go on:) So, I just wanted to have a few photos of them today.
We are truly blessed!

Imaginations!
Yesterday we bought a new vanity for our master bathroom--finally:)
Anyway, it came with a large box. Now, we have discovered over the years that boxes make the best toys:) So, when the girls were in bed last night, David cut out a door and window on the box. We showed the girls this morning, and they love it---it's their castle!
The imagination of a child, isn't it great:)
Balloon Fight!!
We watched the neighbors kids the other day, 2 boys, and had some fun. We blew up some balloons and the kids had a sword fight with them:) It turned out to be an even match in the end and there was barely any drama or tears!!!
After the balloon fighting, we went out for some street racing!

There was no clear winner but they all had fun:) Then, it was time to be artistic with some chalk>
Overall, we had a great afternoon!

First Verses
I forgot to post this--- Faith and Dalaina have learned their first Bible verses:) The first was John 3:16 and the next was 2 Corinthians 5:17. It is something to see and hear such young children speaking bible verses--I love it and they are so happy when they say them.

Gram's birthday
Today is my mom's birthday and we called her:) The girls called and said happy birthday, I love you and blew her kisses:)
Then, they asked if we could take her a cake?! I nicely explained how sweet that would be, but Gram lives in Pa! They were sad but I explained that we would see her in a few weeks and that was enough for some smiles:)

When boys play with girl stuff
Okay, we had some friends over for milkshakes and cards the other night. They have 2 boys who came with them. We let the kids play in the girls playroom while we played our game of Phase 10. By the way, the milkshakes were very good (we had been on the Atkin's diet for 12days and needed some carbs!) And, well, we won't mention who won the 4hour game:)
It was late when we finished. We went to collect the boys and, well, the playroom was quite a mess! There were toys we hadn't seen in a while, as well as toys we didn't know existed in that room:)
So, at 11pm, quite tired, 4 adults and 2 boys tried to clean up the mess. While we were cleaning up, David F and David O had some fun...
It was, "what's this?" "where did this come from?" and "where does this go?"...I had a good laugh in that moment. And, the David's had a girlie moment-forever captured on film!

When mom is at work....
I recently took a part-time job, 2 days a week, to maintain my nursing license. Usually, when I come home I am greeted with lots of screaming (happy) and lots of hugs!!!!! I then ask what they did while I was gone and they tell me. Today was nothing special-so they said. Later, David went to work and the girls were in bed. I picked up our camera and turned it on. This is what I find....
...looks like they had fun:)
The not so fun part of the day was what I found later after dinner. I was at the kitchen sink and happened to look out the window as I usually do---and this is what I saw...

Apparently, David and the girls were outside playing there today! (Dalaina wouldn't go up the ladder to get to the platform because there was something white on it)... I told the girls to be thankful that the limb did not fall when they were out there playing!! They are still sad that there slide and sand box are ruined:(
I decided that I didn't much mind the messy house-or the disobeying of the jumping on/off the couch rule-----I was counting my blessings:) We thanked God tonight in our prayers that we are safe! David decided that the white was an angel:)

Potty Poster
We have been potty training Dalaina for a few weeks now and she has a grid like poster. When she goes on the potty, she places a sticker in a square! She loves it:) We used the same method for Faith. Now, I was braiding Faith's hair yesterday in our living room. She was looking out the back door and she asked, "Mom, why does that window look like Dalaina's potty poster?"
The things children say, huh! I just laughed and said, "I wonder" :)
...Did you know that 90% of what people learn in their life was taught between birth and 6 years old!!

Tea Party
So I promised the girls that they could have a tea party today! We just love having tea parties:) They use a plastic tea set from their Uncle Nathan. We usually have an herbal (no caffeine) tea and a small snack:)
Crackers, peanuts, and fruit snacks were on the menu today (carbs, protein, & sugar)
While they drink their tea, they pretend to have a grown up conversation about their day---it's always amuzing:)

Falls Mill
So, today marks the first day of our attempt to create and maintain a blog! We have decided to join the latest technology craze as a way to keep all of our friends and family-near and far- updated on our life here in Alabama:)
We took a trip today with the Sharp Arrows group to a place called Falls Mill in Tennessee. The mill was originally built in 1873. It is still functioning as a water powered, grain mill and museum!
The girls had fun seeing the water wheel, pulleys, and the creek---they even fed some really hungry, jumping fish!
