Crazy Busy!!!!!!!

Well, November has come with a whirlind of activity:) I feel like we have been so crazy busy this month--I can't believe that next week in Thanksgiving!! Anyway, I am so happy to say that we are finally finished with our living room floor:) After pink eye, an ear infection, minor surgery, two work schedules and a broken central unit, the floor is finished. Here are some photos of the job:

It is so nice to have my living room back together and to reclaim the other rooms of the house that have suffered! And, it will be so nice to not have to pull out the vacuum every other day for that white carpet :)
Anyway, we are off to Pittsburgh for Thanksgiving and then to the Smokies for some much needed vacation! We'll post when we return in December> Happy Turkey Day to all!!

I was playin' around on picnik-which is quite fun. Here is what I did:

...I was trying out some things for our Christmas card this year

New project

Do you remember back to the post where the girls were using the stacks of flooring to play on???

Well, the time has come for the flooring to be put down! We tore up the living room carpet today for preparation of the installation:

---uh, those marks would be dog urine stains from the prior owner :( Totally nasty-right?!

...I have learned when you tear up one room, another room gets involved--where else would you put the furniture!! So, the living room contents have been moved to the great room and the girls are enjoying their new space!

"Look mom, we're balancing!"

My little ballerina!
I'll put up the final pic of the floor when it's done>

The Girl's Bath

I don't have a before photo, but if you scroll down and view the before of the master, you can get a great idea for what this bathroom looked like. Everything down to the light and knobs was the same! Now, we have this:

New ceramic tile flooring, new commode, new European style sink, new paint job and a new matching mirror:) It is great and the girls love it! The curve of the sink makes it easy for them to spit and rinse when they brush their teeth:) A few minor details left and it is finished!!

New Master Bath:)

OK, for those of you who don't know, we have been remodeling our home little by little. We tore up both bathrooms and redid them---new floors, paint, commodes, sinks, everything!!! I got a before of the master bath ---

...oh that, that mess is peeling, painted wallpaper that was put on a non-primed wall--tons of fun there:)

The vinyl flooring, painted over wallpaper, an outdated vanity, and a commode that you had to flush twice is all gone and now we have this:

new ceramic tile

a new, water saving commode

and beautiful new vanity (COSTCO)
We also took the door off and switched it around for more space--it used to open into the tub! There are still some minor finishing touches (ie shelves, decorations, shutters) to be done---but it is great to have a new look and more function:)

The girls

I was scrolling through some older photos of the girls and found this one

...and I found myself amazed at the growth speed of children! I mean, I remember taking that photo as if it were yesterday:) I decided to take some more photos for me to scroll through in a few more years! You can see how much Faith adores her sister there---

...and fortunately, that has not changed!! I am always amazed when I look at older photos because it is easy to forget what they looked like then. And, it is amazing what growing some hair can do for a child:)

Anyway, here are some fun photos from today

ok, I'll stop now:)

Girlie Girls!

This is for all of you with boys and no girls-----Girls!

Well, we definitely have girlie girls. It's all about the color pink, tights, tutu's, dresses, hair bows, pink, princesses, pink, and ballerinas!!! And, oh did I mention pink! And, did I mention that the color I like least in this world is PINK:)

Dalaina just loved her ballerina costume! She walked around showing us how she can walk on her tippie toes-just like "baw-war- rinyas" do:) It is just adorable.

She also enjoyed showing us just how a ballerina streches her leg up! She also wondered why she didn't have a "te r wa" (Faith just enjoyed her cany bracelet)

I do love my girls and I am glad that they are such GIRLS! It's great that they love each other and can be sweet to each other!!!

Halloween 08

First off, let me say that these girls had been asking me every morning as soon as their eyes open if it's time for Harvest Fest and their costumes!!! And everyday, I had to say no. Finally, I could tell them yes and wow-the sparkle in their eyes and the size of the smiles!!!!!!!!!

First, we went to a party at the Huntsville Library at 10:30am---cupcakes, candy corns, M&Ms, chocolate eyeballs, and more. That started the sugar high for the day:)

Then, later the girls put their costumes on and just had to go across the street to show our friends!

Dalaina showed them just how a ballerina does her spins! And, of course, Faith showed them just how her dress "pops out" when she spins:) Then, we went back home to wait for the neighbors to come over.

They came over and we walked around our street from house to house--however, not many people were at home (did I mention that is was only 4 o'clock) They got some candy from some neighbors. They still had fun--we told them it was good practice for later:)

We went in to get ready for Harvest Fest which was in town. WOW--what a time we had there! Free hot dogs, sodas, bouncers, slides, train rides, music and more!!

Faith's hair was quite static on the way down the Tiger slide:)
What goes up,

must come down!

It was a great evening for the kids! They had a lot of fun and most of all, worked off most of the sugar that they consumed:)
