Snoqualamie Falls

We spent the day together and drove to Snoqualamie Outlets. We saw this ginormous thing along the roadside.

Now that's a peice of wood~

Apparently, millions of people come from all over to see these falls:)

...it was pretty cool:)

We had a great day!!!!

Father's Day

We started the day at 730am--we got up and made dad some apple cinnamin pancakes:) He was very pleased when he came home from work!! Then, the girls gave him his gifts-they get him Tshirts every year:)

Then we sent him off to bed. Later, he got up and headed out to get a one hour massage. While he was gone, we were busy making meatballs and german chocolate cupcakes! He was very pleased when he came home---

After dinner, we had cupcakes and then said goodbye and off to work he went.

First, he stopped for a photo with his girls!
What a nice day for dad!

Lordie, lordie, look who's 40!!!

We celebrated David's 40th birthday on wednesday! WOW! He wanted something that would last since this was a milestone in his life...well, we decided that we would get him 40gifts to open!!
We bought a laundry basket(thank goodness he has somewhere to pile his laundry now) and filled it up!

He got a new hat-much needed!

A thermos for coffee-much wanted!

A book about listening!!!!!

...some candy he loves:)

...a card about the forgetfulness that comes with age!!!

He really enjoyed opening everything--he had fun trying to guess what each item was:)
The girls had fun passing the gifts to him!!---and helping tear into a few!

His celebration dinner was enchiladas and we finished with an All American Chocolate cake---wow-there was a lot of heat from those candles---and he actually had enough wind in one blow...

...to get them all out at one time!!!!!

with all that smoke, you think we would have been calling the fire dept?! good thing the patio door was near!

what a cake!!!!! ...check out the bowl full of candles...hahahaha

It was a great day for all----and oh, my belly still hurts from that cake!

Snoqualmie Pass

We took a drive Sunday through the Snoqualmie Pass and it was worth the drive

We, meaning me, my mom, and the girls, took a 1mile hike around Cold Creek pond:)

The girls really enjoyed the hike, the fresh air and the other sights!

We walked on snow in June!!! The girls giggled the whole time:)

The work of a busy beaver!

This was the face we got when we explained what the beavers do!

It was a beautiful day:)

We had a little snack at the pond! The girls have worked up to be able to make a 2mile hike without being carried:)

We let Faith choose which way we went and she thought that was great! She knows all about exploring!
Oh, did I mention that we did some climbing and balancing on logs to get over to the creek!! We did, and that's one of those things that we'll probably never do again with 2 toddlers:) The good news is that we came out of it mostly dry and found our way through the woods back to the van. A few scrapes here and there, lots of tears, but it was a great day!!!

The Narrows

For those of you who don't live out here, this is for you. You always here us talk about going over the bridge. Or talking about the Narrows. Well, this is the set of bridges that connects the peninsula that we live on to the other land-where Tacoma is. We happened to cross it at sunset the other day---which was beautiful!

If you get a chance to--look up the Narrows, 1940 on the web. Watch the video of what happened to the original bridge!!!!!!!!!!!!! CRAZY

The Locks

We have been enjoying some very nice weather here lately:) So of course we've been getting out and seeing the sites. We drove up to Seattle to check out the locks!

This damn/lock separates Lake Washington and Puget Sound. It is very interesting to see and read about. And, it is quite old, but still in perfect working condition!

The girls enjoyed seeing the boats go through and rise up with the water level:)

I think David and I enjoyed it as much as the girls!!!!!!!!!!!!
