TULIPS!!!!!!!!!!

For those of you who are not the least bit interested in flowers, now would be the best time to log off of this page!!!
You've been warned
We took a 2hr drive to north of Seattle to Mt Vernon. The 26th annual tulip festival!
When I told the girls, they asked if we were going to dress up like tulips? hahahaha

We saw tulips of every kind, shape, size, and color! And oh my gosh, have you ever unleashed 2 toddler girls in a field or garden of tulips!!!!

Dalaina sniffed every color of tulip! Every color!
They were so excited---and of course they wanted to pick them (which was a big No-no)

I had never seen so many colors and types of tulips---I just couldn't stop taking pictures!!

These purple ones were very pretty and smelled great!

I took over 100 pictures, but don't worry-there not all on here!. Just the good ones:)

This one was really cool!

You would think that this would be a great photo op for the girls--however, a 2hr car ride, plus 2hrs in traffic and then unleashing them into a field of tulips=hyper active girls!!!!!

They plant over 300,00 bulbs each year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just fields of them---it looked like blankets from far away---and of course, cameras just don't do it justice:)
It was breath taking and the beautiful day was perfect!

You weren't allowed to walk down the rows in between because they had planted peas, but we snuck a few picks--naughty I know! (And these are the examples we set for our children!! )

We were actually unaware of that rule and were half way down a row when we heard the yelling from the flagging man---he was shouting at us! However, when there are a ton of people around, it's hard to know that you are THE ONE the shouting is for! And, there were no signs about where to walk where we were....anyway......

Nonetheless, we had a good time! The girls enjoyed every moment, every row, every tulip!

...Stop to smell the tulips:)

100th Post--OlympicGame Farm

On Monday we took a 2hr drive north---we had the day as a family, which was nice:) We drove to the tip of Washington and visited the Olympic Game Farm. This was a great experience:) The scenery along the way was beautiful!

Once there, we paid our admission, got a loaf of bread, heard the rules, and then we drove off! Some people have a ton of acreage and have animals that interact with people in a peaceful way---that's how the brochure reads:)

This was also educational---the girls learned the difference between a girl and a boy peacock!

We were warned about the zebra--he bites-- and David almost learned that the hard way!

These yaks were in the middle of the road--if you stop your vehicle, they crowd around you and you are stuck there!

The Llamas would come up to the window and sniff and just knew you had bread! They would just wait there and stick their head in your window to find the bread! It was crazy:)

There were several Kodiak Brown Bears there. Several of them were stars--they're from hollywood movies! They do trciks and clap for bread! Who ever heard of a bear that loved bread?!

The girls loved throwing bread to all of the animals---especially the birds and peacocks!

David enjoyed the animals as well.

The elk and deer could smell the bread too. When they saw and heard a vehicle, they all just flocked over to you---waiting.

The elk enjoyed this ear scratchin' just a bit more than you would think---David just kept scratching!!!!

Then came the big, wooly, stinky, fly covered bison! They were huge and just stuck their heads in the windows. Their huge tongues slimed up the windows. It was cool but also disgusting!

Of course, David had some fun with them. He kept pulling the one by the horn--until it got mad!!

Then the batteries in the camera died:( There was a petting farm at the end of the trail and there were goats, sheep, Llamas, roosters, etc. And, the Llama liked to spit! She would pin her ears back and that was the warning. Also, have you ever seen a 2year chase a rooster?!
Anyway, we had a great time and I thought this was a great choice for my 100th post on the blog!
I can't believe it-100 posts. It has been great fun! There is much more to come:)
Thanks for tuning in

KITES!!!!!!!!

We had a very cool Easter bunny this year:) He brought the girls -both- an awesome, large (65in) fairy kite!!!! This was a treat---trying to fly a kite with two toddlers.

It was actually great fun---once we secured the line so it couldn't release any more:)

And, the best part was that there was not quite enough wind to keep the fairies up, so,...the girls did a lot of running!!!!

...that translates to 'very tired' little girls that evening:)

They enjoyed racing each other too!

It was overall a good time and they can't wait to do it again:)

this is them heading back to the beginning of the field...

and then they're off!!!!!!!!
It was a beautiful day for flying kites and spending time together:)

EASTER 2009

Coloring eggs is always the most nerve racking part of the holiday for me---the whole food coloring thing, the permanence, aahh....Anywho, I survived it:)

Actually, I enjoyed it more than I remember---it could be that Dalaina is not a baby any more!

I covered them in plastic bags and they didn't even make a drop off the table!!!!!

They really enjoyed this! And, it was great to watch and not have to help so much. They were quite independent:)

The girls each got to color some eggs Saturday night and then they left the Easter bunny 4 carrots and went off to bed!

EASTER EGG HUNT

The annual egg hunt in the harbor was on Saturday. And, wow, what a turn out...there were
kids everywhere!!!!

The girls waited so patiently for it to be 1030am---they were very good:)

There were eggs everywhere-high and low!

They were able to collect plenty despite the crowd! They were proud of their candy stash! And, of course, they had a peice as soon as they got to the van:)
