The Columbia River Gorge

While David was off exploring Israel, we took a trip south to the gorge. And wow---this post will be so short on words. Stunning scenery.....

Cute, little town-Troutdale, Or

This place has been around since 1920---good food too!

We put in a quarter to hear "Run around Sue"

Throughout this trail, the signs showed us the many plants, leaves, and berries that were used years ago for many things!

This trip was not all about scenery though. We accidentaly came upon a pumpkin patch that was awesome!

....and free to get in. The pumpkins were priced by height and benefited the homeless!

blow ups---always a pleaser!!!!

So, the first and second day were not the best weather days....

That itty, bitty, round-like object near the cliff is Crown Point--a building.

We made it there in minutes from that other point-it was crazy.

The interior was a gallery of history--including now and then photos, artifacts, and a gift shop:)

The interior of the building was gorgeous---all marble and brass!

beautiful stained glass windows...this structure has been around since the early 1900's also.

The exterior (part is under construction obviously)

Onto the rest of the scenery.....Latourel Falls

Wonata falls---we hiked up a half mile in the rain for this one and got misted some more!!

We came upon the Columbia Gorge Hotel--also around since 1920. Beautiful hotel and grounds

...including their own waterfall---can you see the girls on the bridge with Gram?

We stayed at a cheaper place than the $200/night hotel. The girls enjoyed some tv time there:)

...and oh, so glad we stayed an extra day ---God is good----my birthday weather was awesome!!!

Multnomah Falls--second tallest, year round waterfall in North America at 620 feet

...and yes, you can go across that bridge:)

Is that beautiful or what!?

...just a beautiful trip!
