Okay...so here it is. Last Sunday, I went to pick up the girls from their Sunday school classes. One of the moms was coming out and she began to tell me how my daughter has a BOYFRIEND and she's going to see him after class!?! Of course, I said, "My daughter? Are you sure?" And, yep, she was. As soon as Faith came out of class she told me he was going to wait for her after class!
I was in total shock here people---she's going on 6 not 16! However, I was also intrigued at just who he was and what this meant to them. So, I followed her down the hall and sure enough there was a boy leaning on the door frame of the classroom---waiting for Faith!!!!!!!!!
MMMM...did I mention that she didn't even know his name until I asked him! He was also a few grades ahead of her!
David was mortified-those of you who know my husband understand.
We all went to the social area for drinks and cake and Faith was just gaga over this kid. (He was cute!) She was smiling ear to ear, jumping around, doing ballet kicks, and just insanely excited!!
Anyway, the boy's name was Jacob! Once in the crowd, he could careless about Faith. All the girls were gaga over him!
Crazy---she's 5 people.
Long story short, Dad had a little chat with Faith about boyfriends. There were tears on the way home. But, as usual, she bounced back and was laughing when we got home!
This has given us a little wake up call---maybe we'll be less shocked next time when she uses the word "boyfriend"....we'll see!
